John Dutrow

My name is John Dutrow, and my family my parents, Tony and Kim Dutrow have made our name synonymous with the horse racing industry. And no, I’m not talking about NASCAR or the Tour de France. I’m talking about the original racing industry horse racing a sport that defines who we are.

“It’s what we know, how we’ve made our living, and, most importantly, what we love.”

The purpose of this platform is to both educate readers about the horse racing world and share my family’s experiences within this unpredictable and exhilarating lifestyle. In this sport, the favorite wins only about 33 percent of the time, and with only thirteen Triple Crown champions in history, everyone is chasing the next legend. Follow along and see if my father just might train the next Triple Crown winner.

Early Career and Education

While attending Drexel University, I took part in the school’s renowned co-op program, completing multiple internships with the New York Racing Association (NYRA).

Over the course of three summers, I served as Assistant Coordinator for the Press Box, Communications Team, and Special Events, gaining first-hand experience in one of the most historic venues in sports Saratoga Race Course, the oldest active sporting venue in the United States.

In that role, I:

• Managed media materials, credentials, and press operations

• Interviewed top jockeys, trainers, owners, and racing personalities

• Maintained daily recaps, records, and race statistics for NYRA’s communications team

These experiences deepened my understanding of the sport’s inner workings and inspired me to pursue safer, more effective ways to care for equine athletes. That passion ultimately led to the creation of Winners Equine and LubriSyn HA, two of the most trusted and effective equine respiratory and joint supplements on the market today.

Professional Experience

Since graduating, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some of the top farms, veterinarians, and trainers in the nation. For more than ten years, I’ve dedicated my career to improving equine health, helping horses and other animals perform at their best and enjoy longer, healthier careers.

A defining experience in my professional journey came when I worked alongside Dr. Steven Allday, founder of LubriSynHa and one of the most respected lameness specialists in the world. Dr. Allday’s career includes work with twenty Triple Crown race winners, fifteen Breeders’ Cup champions, and five Thoroughbred Horses of the Year.

Under his mentorship, I assisted in the daily management of elite thoroughbreds — including a Breeders’ Cup winner supporting diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, performing bandage changes, and representing the company at trade shows to educate others on equine health and performance.

Mission and Vision

My mission is to share the beauty, depth, and integrity of this extraordinary sport. Growing up, I didn’t fully appreciate how truly special the horse racing industry is not just the excitement of race day, but the tireless dedication, care, and heart behind it all.

Through this platform, I aim to give readers an inside look at life on the track and the backside to show the world a side of horse racing that few ever see.

While the sport may still feel unfamiliar to many people across the country, it remains one of America’s most historic, passionate, and captivating industries.

If this website helps even one person discover the same magic and appreciation I have for these incredible animals and this remarkable sport, then it will have achieved its purpose.

If I can share even just a glimpse of the magic I have seen while growing up in this sport, then as far as I’m concerned, this website will have been a success.
